Rules the car/truck had to be sold brand new in 1908

This answer is incredibly obvious but it is impossible to understate the significance of the year 1908 in the automotive world. That old ass hole Henry Ford produced the car that would push the world into a new era the Ford Model T. Need I say more?

What car would you buy Oppo?

Well, I picked it because it was cool looking (lol) but this is what I found:

393ci L-Head 4-Cylinder Engine
Stromberg Carburetor
40 A.L.A.M. Horsepower
3-Speed Locomobile Gearbox, Shaft Drive
Front and Rear Leaf Spring Suspension
Rear Mechanical Brakes

Automobile? Sounds like an answer to a question nobody asked.

Those things are expensive, hard to fuel, and fucking dangerous. What the hell is wrong with the horse?

Apparently it held a record for sustaining “1 mile in 1 minute and 4 seconds” for 188 miles, that seems INSANELY far and fast for 1908.

Thats over 60 mph for 188 miles in 1908.

I’ve gotten you 2 in a row now!!!!

That newsprint is epic I was going to call shenanigans on that speed claim until I saw the newsprint. There wasn’t much in the way of false reporting back then (to my knowledge)

The mighty 1908 Darracq! This car had always been on my top ten list, I want to build one somehow, batshit town here we come. i think they made them since 1905, not sure how much they changed or how many they made. The JAP is cool too, I think this one is a 1908 and the Darracq in the pic is a 1905.

Uh, it’s a crazy ass sports car from 1908! These are like TVRs for that time. Later the brand became a badge-engineered Sunbeam. Check out that V shaped radiator!

If I was like Leno I would have a GN JAP too, that one to the right is awesome, you can see it run at Goodwood. First one was 1908 and this one is a 1914.
